Well, in our previous post we would have told you the method to activate mobile banking in SBI.Now here as an advancement we show you how to activate mobile banking.
The main reason that we focus on SBI is that, it is the most popular banking system almost most Indians use, and also because of its standards.So for ease of learning netbanking we choose SBI.Other corporate banks (such as HDFC) provide activated mobile/ net banking as soon as you open an account in the bank. Unlike, SBI are still in the “old method”.
Here is the procedure…
All you need is an active account.
Email ID.(Don’t have it? Create one at Gmail)
Net connection ( Recommended that you use a high speed internet)
Go to the home branch, where you opened the bank account.Dont forget to take your pass book!
Ask for a net banking application form and fill it.Give all details – the form will be simple.
As soon as you fill and give, you need to register.You need to sign that you received the kit.
You will be provided with a netbanking kit.This contains a UNIQUE ID & PASSWORD. Never share it with any one.This is very important.
What to do?
Read me first:
Make sure your system is free of virus/spywares/malwares etc.These may steal your personal data.When it comes to banking be sure security is the most important.So before activating please run a full system scan with the latest antivirus with recent updates.You can down load free version anti virus such as Avast , Avira and Microsoft Security Essentials.
Be sure to enter into Private browsing in case you are in a public computer.You can use the virtual keyboard to type in ,to prevent trackers tracing your keyboard strokes.
Now go to www.onlinesbi.com.
You will see an option namely Personal banking.Click on it,it diverts to another page.You will be shown some warning.You need to check out for the valid certificate of the site .So on the address bar look for a padlock symbol.Shown below is a sample.If you click on the padlock you will see the certificate.See whether it is valid.
Also the address must have changed from “http” to “https”.
If both are ok, then proceed.If not NEVER PROCEED.
Click on continue button on the bottom of the page.
Now the opens.Now in the LOGIN USERNAME & PASSWORD provide the data from the internet kit.This will make you to login.Now You need to create a New USERNAME & PASSWORD. The Password must contain alphabets,numbers and symbols.Make sure you use the correct case(lower/upper).
Now you have a Unique login ID and Password.But to do transactions you need another main Password which is the Profile Password.A Profile password will allow permissions to change password,transactions,add members(beneficiary) etc.This is main,So be sure you remember it clearly.If in case you forget your Passwords,you need to request at the home branch.So please be responsible.Never share your id/password with any one at any cost.
To send money you will need to add the person as beneficiary.Fund transfer,Third party transfers need permission from bank.So add a person as beneficiary.The person will be a trusted beneficiary after the bank approves which actually takes 16 hours time to approve.Once approved you can transfer money to the person.
Apart from Transfers,you can monitor Cash flow,savings,bill payments.Download transactions as Excel or pdf.
